Ben & Jerry's sweet idea for corporate-sponsored volunteerism
28th June 2010
Corporate partnership has made for a sweet swirl of promotion for volunteerism in America.
Ben & Jerry rolled out two promotional ice cream flavours to help raise awareness for VolunteerMatch, an American website that helps volunteers find short-term projects in their community.
The flavours are 'Berry Voluntary', a raspberry-cheesecake ice cream with white chocolate chunks and raspberry swirls, and 'Brownie Chew Gooder', a vanilla-caramel ice cream with fudge brownie pieces and a caramel swirl. They are being sold in 2010 exclusively at the large American chain-retailer, Target, and are sold in mini-cups (U.S. $1.25) and pints (U.S. $3.50).
The promotion further extends to customers with a coupon offer for a free pint of the promotional Ben & Jerry's ice cream is offered for customers who register for a volunteer activity at VolunteerMatch, and forward the opportunity to five friends.
