Garda Vetting

The Safeguard Programme of Volunteering Ireland operates a Garda Vetting Consortium, on behalf of Ireland based development aid agencies, which send volunteers overseas.

Do you work for an organisation which sends volunteers abroad? Would you like to Garda vet your volunteers before they represent your organisation overseas?

Our Garda Vetting Consortium can help you! By becoming a member, the Safeguard Programme can support you by processing your vetting forms, and liaising with the Garda Central Vetting Unit on your behalf. The Garda Vetting process will disclose any actual convictions and/or pending prosecutions and is part of best practice in the wider context of volunteer recruitment.

If you would like to discuss how to become a member of the consortium and receive our Garda Vetting Information Pack, please don’t hesitate to contact Programme Manager, Sarah Williams, on 01 636 9446 or e-mail sarah@volunteeringireland.ie

or you can Download the Information Pack here
